Criminal Injury Claims

If you have been injured during or as a result of a crime, then you are most likely entitled to compensation.

Getting into contact with a Personal Injury Solicitor is not always the most important thing on your mind following an accident. In most cases, your recovery is of course your top priority and you would probably prefer not to have the stress of dealing with an injury claim immediately after your accident. 

It can be particularly stressful to deal with a Criminal Injury claim, especially as you may still be working with the police to find the criminals responsible for your injuries, although it is worth noting that unlike other compensation claims, you will need to claim for criminal injuries within two years.

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority

In many cases, your criminal injury claim would be made through a government funded organisation known as the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. In order to make a claim through the CICA, you will need to have notified the police of the incident.

Do not worry if the attacker has not yet been convicted or even traced for that matter, you are still allegable to make a claim, providing you give the police all of the information that they need.
